Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Ready to start your engines? Before beginning your Tenerife adventure, we want to make sure everything is clear. Here we answer the most common questions regarding documentation, clothing, safety, and bookings. Whether you are heading to Mount Teide on a Quad or exploring at your own pace on a Scooter, we want your only worry to be enjoying the ride.
Quad Tours
What driving license do I need to drive the Quad?
It is mandatory to present your Physical and ORIGINAL Driving License (Class B/Car) on the day of the tour.
⚠️ Important: We do not accept photos on your phone, photocopies, or provisional driving licenses (such as UK Provisional Licences). Without a full, physical license, our insurance will not cover you, and you will not be allowed to participate (no refunds).
I've never driven a Quad before, is it difficult?
Not at all! 90 % of our clients are beginners. Our Quads are automatic (just accelerate and brake) and very stable. Also, before hitting the road, we do a short practice session at our base so you can build confidence.
What clothes should I wear? (Teide vs Off-Road)
- For Teide (Day & Sunset): Long pants are recommended. We go up to over 2,000 m and the temperature drops significantly. We provide jackets and gloves for the mountain.
- For Off-Road (North): Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dusty or muddy.
- Mandatory for all: Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots). Flip-flops are strictly forbidden.
What is the maximum weight allowed?
For safety and vehicle stability, the maximum combined weight (driver + passenger) is 175 kg (385 lbs) per Quad. If you are two larger individuals exceeding this limit, you must book 2 individual Quads.
Can children or pregnant women participate?
- Children: Yes, as passengers from 7 years old (they must be able to reach the footrests).
- Pregnant women: No. For medical reasons and due to terrain vibrations, the activity is strictly prohibited for pregnant women.
Can the passenger drive?
Yes. If you book a Double Quad, you can swap halfway through the route so both can drive. Requirement: Both must have a valid car driving license and pay a small 20 € supplement at the office to activate the second driver’s insurance.
Do photos and videos cost extra?
No! We want you to enjoy the ride without worrying about your phone. The guide will take photos and videos of you during the tour and we will send them to you completely free of charge after the experience.
Do you go Off-Road (dirt tracks) on all tours?
No, it depends on the tour you choose:
- Teide / Sunset Tour: It is 100 % tarmac (scenic mountain roads).
- North Off-Road Tour: It is mixed (tarmac + dirt tracks and trails). Choose the one that best suits what you are looking for.
Do you run tours or departures from the south of the island?
Tenerife is a large island, and the landscapes in the north are completely different. If you are staying in the south (Adeje, Las Américas), you will need to travel to our office at Calle Aceviño, 2 (Puerto de la Cruz). The journey usually takes about one hour via the motorway.
Scooter Rental
What driving license do I need to rent a 125 cc?
You need one of these two:
- Car Driving License (B) held for a minimum of 3 years.
- Specific Motorcycle License (A1, A2, or A) if you are at least 18 years old.
Note: We do not accept moped licenses (AM).
What is the minimum age?
If you hold a motorcycle license (A1/A2/A), you can rent from 18 years old. If you are using a car license (B), you must be at least 21 years old (to meet the 3 years experience requirement).
Can I use a photo of my license or a digital version on my phone?
No. Due to insurance requirements and legal regulations, it is mandatory to present the PHYSICAL and ORIGINAL Driving License at the time of pick-up. We will also need your original ID card or Passport.
Can I take a passenger?
Yes, our 125 cc scooters are homologated for 2 people. The rental includes 2 helmets at no extra cost. The passenger must be older than 7 years and be able to reach the footrests.
What does the insurance cover?
The price includes Third-Party Insurance and roadside assistance. Damage to the motorcycle (dents, scratches) or theft are NOT included: you have a maximum excess of 500 €. If something happens, the deposit (150 €) will be used to cover part of the cost, but you must pay the difference up to the repair amount.
How does the security deposit work?
When picking up the scooter, you must leave a 150 € deposit (via card or cash). If you return the scooter in the same condition as it was handed over (no damage, correct fuel level, and with the keys), we will refund the deposit immediately.
Is fuel included?
No. We provide the scooter with a specific fuel level, and you must return it with the same level. If returned with less, you will be charged the difference plus a 20 € refuelling service fee.
What happens if I cancel my booking?
You have free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start of your rental. If you cancel within this timeframe, we will issue a full refund.
Can I take the scooter to another island?
No. Insurance and breakdown cover are only valid within the island of Tenerife. It is strictly forbidden to take the scooter on a ferry or boat to another island.
Can I drive on dirt tracks (Off-Road)?
No. Our scooters are strictly for use on paved roads. Driving on dirt tracks, sand, or off-road is prohibited and considered misuse of the vehicle (which incurs a penalty).
Do they have enough power to go up Mount Teide?
Yes. Our scooters are 125 cc and climb the main roads to Mount Teide perfectly well. We just ask you to be careful on the curves, respect the speed limits, and bring warm clothes (it gets cold up there).
Is there a mileage limit?
No. You have unlimited mileage so you can explore Tenerife with complete freedom (always remaining on the island).
Do you deliver the scooter to my hotel?
We do not offer hotel deliveries. Pick-up and drop-off always take place at our physical office: Calle Aceviño 2, Puerto de la Cruz.
What happens if I am late returning the scooter?
We request maximum punctuality. You have a 29-minute grace period. After this time, the system automatically charges a penalty of 50 € for each hour (or fraction) of delay, as this affects the next customer.
What should I do if I lose the keys?
Call us immediately. Please note that losing the keys is not a mechanical breakdown, so the call-out service to bring you the spare key incurs a cost of 50 €, plus the cost of replacing the key.
What should I do in case of an accident?
Your safety comes first.
- Secure the area.
- If there are injuries, call 112.
- Notify us immediately.
It is mandatory to provide us with the amicable accident report or police report within a maximum of 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in a 250 € penalty.
General & Bookings
I am a Canarian Resident, do I get a discount?
Yes! We want you to enjoy your island. We offer a 15 % discount on our tours. Just use the code RESIDENTE15 when making your booking.
⚠️ Important: It is mandatory to present a physical DNI/NIE showing a Canary Islands address on the day of the activity to validate the discount.
Where is your office located?
We are located in Puerto de la Cruz, at Calle Aceviño, 2 (La Paz area). It’s an area with relatively easy parking. We will send you the exact Google Maps location when your booking is confirmed.
Can I cancel if my plans change?
Yes. We offer free cancellation with a full refund if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less notice or fail to show up, we cannot issue a refund.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety comes first. If there is heavy rain or dangerous conditions, we will cancel the departure and offer you two options: reschedule for another day or receive a full refund. (Note: Light rain or clouds are not reasons for cancellation—sometimes it makes the ride even more fun!).
How far in advance should I book?
Our groups are very small (maximum 4 quads per departure) to ensure a VIP experience. Therefore, we recommend booking at least 48-72 hours in advance, especially in summer, Easter, and Christmas, when spaces fill up very quickly.
In what languages are the tours conducted?
Our professional guides provide explanations and safety briefings in both Spanish and English.
How can I pay?
- Website: You can pay securely with a credit/debit card when booking online.
- Office: We accept both cash and card.
Note: For scooter deposits, we accept card or cash.
Is it difficult to park near the office?
Our office is on Calle Aceviño (La Paz area, Puerto de la Cruz). Generally, it is relatively easy to find parking on the same street or nearby, unlike the historic center where it is much harder.
Do you offer rates for large groups or events?
Sure! If you are a corporate group, stag/hen party, or a large family (more than 4 quads), please contact us directly via WhatsApp or Email. We can organize private tours or block out multiple timeslots for you.
Do I need to print the booking voucher?
No need. We are eco-friendly. Just show us the confirmation email on your phone, along with your original ID/Passport and Driving License.
